My name is Babs (Barbora Jones) the owner and founder of Fitness by Babs. Mobile personal training and group fitness training company from Epsom, Surrey.

Mobile – meaning, I come to you, and bring everything needed for each session! Which takes less time and effort for you and sometimes the only way you can do this. So whatever it is that stopping you to get your health together – maybe gyms are intimidating for you, you have aches and pains and are not sure you have good form/posture while exercising, you just don’t have time to go to gym, but you have 45mins break in lunch time, or maybe you have little toddler running around you and this is the most convenient way. I am here and very excited to help you to overcome your struggles and start!
This is why mobile personal training is the only way forward for many 😊

About me:
My background is mixture of sports and art - if it was gym, CrossFit training, lifting heavy, you name it I love to push myself, or my big love for snowboarding and listening that quick swishing of my board on snow. But also making props, puppets, costumes, painting, drawing... I have a degree in special effects in LCF (Universities of Art) - props and costumes, puppets for films and theatre which I love too. But my passion for movement, lifting - feeling better in my body and mind and just general health, overtook my other passion and that’s when Fitness by Babs was born.

In 2018 when my daughter was 2 years old, I took the big and very scary step out of my comfort zone, to change my career and I started to study to become personal trainer. So I can, instead of long hours working sitting or standing in workshops making props, puppets or leather furniture for superyachts, open my own little business and help as many people as possible to start moving and feeling better.
My other reasons which pushed me to this direction? My own struggles of course, with my own health, lower back injuries from snowboarding or else (I will never stop snowboarding of course!I just need to keep strong) But also, and that was a big one - after giving birth to my wonderful daughter and realising that it is definitely not just your body which need help, but also your mental health and how very little help there is for mums.
Now, later on in life, realising how little there is said about (and help for) Perimenopause, Menopause, Men’s health, Men’s mental health (which is hardly talked about too!), Older adults and strength training…
BUT also for kids and teenagers!!! We need to show our kids how powerful movement is, how very important is to be strong! We need to get it into their heads early, so it is a normalised and become normal habit for them. And, to bust all the myths about kids exercise – just like - they shouldn’t lift weighs as its stop them growing! Or other myths.
All this pushes me much more to study and research about our bodies, injuries, spine, posture, form, nutrition, longevity, mental health, cognitive function, …etc. With all this new information my passion to help others only keep growing too and this way I can help all my clients better.

My aim is clear! I am on a mission to help you feel better not only physically, but also mentally! Teach you that this is not just summer body business, this is for life. This is a process and it needs to be taken step by step, so you don’t get overwhelmed and keep quitting. Prevent you from injuries, get you stronger body all over, fix your form to help your posture, educate you – share my knowledge with you to help you reach your goals…or even possibly to make you realise that sometimes the goal is not “just” loosing weights, but actually to get strong body you can rely on and for the rest of your life – losing weights(body fat) usually comes with it anyways, so that’s your bonus😊
